SUMMARY:Health and Safety Demo with Sandstone and Hydrasun
DESCRIPTION:\nMonday 6th October 2025 \n\n\nJoin us on Monday, October 6th 9.30am to 1.30pm at the Hydrasun facility in Glasgow for a “Save a Life” demo with Sandstone.  \nThe session will provide “hands on” practical demonstrations in a real world engineering environment on the critical issue of saving a colleague’s life. It will review current HSE legislation such as Martyn’s law and the repercussions for training and equipment in industry. There will also be a networking lunch and an opportunity to tour the Hydrasun facility.\nHydrasun specialise in delivering integrated fluid transfer, power and control products across various sectors worldwide.\nSandstone provide expertise in HSE compliant First Aid provision in industrial and commercial settings delivered by experts with blue light and military backgrounds.\n\nIn the event of a life threatening bleed you have just 2 minutes to save a life…\n\n\nWhat would you do? \nDo you have the right kit? \n\n\nA member of the team has a heart attack only they are being the wheel of a vehicle or fallen down a stair well. \nWhat do you do?\nCan you move them? \n\n\nKey to survival is muscle memory and situational training. This can not be taught in a classroom room. Most CPR training takes place in a warm dry classroom with a dummy flat on its back in the perfect conditions. This does not reflect real life and is therefore not compliant.\n\n\nOver the last few years there have been significant changes to HSE law and best practice, much of it following on from Martyn’s law and specifically around the use of bleed kits. The HSE first aid at work document has always stated that you should have a first aid assessment (this is different to a risk assessment) and that your training and equipment should reflect the environment in which you operate.\n\n\nThis half day session is designed to highlight to members the current flaws in first aid training and assessment and to demonstrate what HSE best practice means for you. The  Sandstone tam will give you a chance to see and participate in some live action scenarios around saving a life.\n\nRegister your interest ( https://app.emarketeer.com/ext/form/entry.php?m=399347a1675aca4d0389550455fe053fd75ad41&Origin=Direct )\n
