DESCRIPTION:Training Dates\n\n12th May 2026 – 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM\n13th May, 2026 – 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM\n\nWe are delighted to announce spaces for our May cohort are now available.\nWe are excited to announce the second cohort of First Line Management (FLM) training for 2026, taking place on the 12th and 13th May. We have had over 500 people complete our FLM training so far.\nThe two day session will take place in our base in Glasgow, and will cover;\n\nThe role of the FLM; In this session we will break down the role, skills and qualities that those in or preparing for management will need to develop;\nAbsence Management; In this session we look at the impact managers can have on managing short and long term absence, and ways to support our teams;\nPerformance Management; We look at creating a culture of Performance Management, how to develop our good performers and how to improve poor performance;\nDiscipline and Grievance; In this session we cover the entire discipline and grievance processes, including investigations, hearings, outcomes and the legal framework that underpins both;\nCourageous Conversations; Our most challenging topic – we look at ways to challenge poor conduct or behaviour within teams, and a focus on achieving better outcomes;\nTeam Building – We look at what makes an effective team, how we can build and develop our people within those teams to achieve their full potential\n\nSessions will be participative, and as always will give the opportunity to work on case studies.\nFor more info, and to book your place, contact mariem@scottishengineering.org.uk ( mailto:mariem@scottishengineering.org.uk )\nCost – please note this must be paid in advance in order to confirm your place\n£435 + VAT for members\n£505 + VAT for non-members\nCancellation policy \nPlease note that cancellations made within14 days of the event will not be eligible for a refund, and any outstanding balances will remain payable.
