Free ISO 14001:2026 Breakfast Briefing with Q&A Panel Session Delivered by Arthian

Join Arthian, in partnership with Scottish Engineering and NQA, on Wednesday 23 September, 08:30-10:30am at Scottish Engineering offices (105 West George Street, Glasgow) for a unique opportunity to hear from Arthian Management Systems Consultants and Certification Body, NQA.

Following the publication of the updated Environmental Management Systems Standard ISO 14001:2026 in April 2026, this breakfast briefing is designed to be an interactive and thought-provoking event. We’ll take audience questions across a chaired panel session where attendees will have a unique first-hand opportunity to ask your own ISO 14001 related questions.

As well as Geraldine Boylan, Director Sustainability at Arthian and Stephen Burt, Carbon & Sustainability Services Director for external certification body NQA, panelists will also include Arthian Environmental Legal Compliance lead Jill Cottrell as subject matter experts with experience of working with many engineering clients.

Meet the Experts:

Geraldine Boylan

Geraldine is Director of the Sustainability Group at consultancy Arthian, a Chartered Environmentalist and Fellow of ISEP. She has over 25 years’ experience working alongside engineering and industrial companies, she is a respected specialist in environmental management and QHSEEn ISO management systems.

With her team, she has designed, implemented, trained and internally audited EMS frameworks using ISO 14001, supporting organisations ranging from high‑hazard, environmentally permitted sites to growing SME operations. Geraldine brings a systems‑led approach that connects environmental compliance with wider sustainability priorities, including climate risk, carbon reduction and biodiversity impact, helping organisations strengthen resilience and long‑term performance. She has a passion for business, processes and supporting environmental improvements.

Stephen Burt

Stephen is the Carbon & Sustainability Services Director at NQA, a global Certification and Verification Body. After completing his science degree he completed a Masters Degree in Environmental Management and Technology, and is currently close to completion of his PhD, focussed on data used for demonstrating progress towards net zero.

With more than 25 years of industry, consultancy and Certification / Verification Body experience in all things carbon, energy, sustainability and environmental, he is a Lead Verifier / Auditor with NQA for ISO 14064-1, ISO 14068-1, PAS 2080, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and ISO 20121, as well as maintaining his skills as a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.

Stephen is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and a full Member (MIEMA) of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, as well as a member of SES/1/7, responsible for the preparation of British Standards in the field of Greenhouse Gas management, and SES/1/1, responsible for the preparation of British Standards in the field of Environmental Management Systems.

 

Jill Cottrell

Over 20 years’ experience in the sector, working with public and private sector clients, and now leading the Arthian Environmental, Health and Safety Legal Compliance service team.

Clients include manufacturing companies, food and drink sector, life sciences sector, defence sector, engineering sector, developers, and financial and legal companies.

Regular activities include provision of EHS legal registers, EHS legal compliance audits, support with close out of non-conformities and compliance related environmental management programmes such as F-gas, environmental permitting, waste duty of care, packaging, ESOS and SECR support.
