Army Reserve Centre, Whitemoss, East Kilbride, G74 2HP
Join us on the 30th May 9.30AM – 1PM for a demonstration and networking event with 153 Recovery Company, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) at the Army Reserve Centre in East Kilbride.
REME are the Army’s professional engineers, maintaining and repairing the vast array of Army equipment including vehicles, weapon systems and aircraft. They can be found wherever the Army is operating at home or overseas. The Army Reserve is an integral part of our modern British Army, providing a flexible and skilled force that complements and supports Regular Army operations here and abroad. REME Army Reservists are both soldiers and craftspeople, with a range of skills and trades including metalsmiths, mechanics and technicians, and are trained to have the confidence to tackle any engineering problem, and in the most challenging of circumstances.
In this event members will gain insight into the operations of a REME Army Reserve Unit. They will hear first hand from serving reservists about their roles, their experiences and the significant benefits that reserve service can bring both to the reservist and their employer.
They will experience hands on demonstrations of army equipment and REME skills, and will learn how engagement with the Armed Forces Community can support the defence of our country and also benefit their own businesses. The event will culminate with a networking session and debrief over lunch.
