Our annual awards aim to recognise both inspiring individuals and exceptional organisations, who are the epitome of Scottish excellence.

Cancellation policy: Please be advised that from the 17th April (28 days prior to the event), a 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Time: 18:30 for 19:15 (until 23:00)

Mamta is a chartered design engineer with a diverse background and a strong commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the fields of STEM and business. In 2022 she was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours for services to engineering. Mamta holds two engineering fellowships (FIET and FWES) and a number of national and international board positions.
She has a unique mix of educational experiences, having earned an affiliated degree in product design engineering from Glasgow University/Glasgow School of Art, an MSc in engineering management from Strathclyde University, and an MBA with distinction from Strathclyde International Business School. She is also neurodiverse and passionate about showcasing those with different thinking styles including Dyslexia.
Des McLean is a multi-award winning stand-up comedian, TV & Radio presenter, event host and actor.
Based in Glasgow, Des is in demand both throughout the UK and across the world. He has toured America, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and has even performed at the iconic Riviera in Las Vegas. You may recognise Des from his time presenting on programmes for both BBC & STV, as well as co-hosting the Clyde 1 Breakfast Show for 6 years, winning three prestigious Sony Radio Academy Awards.
In 2017, Des embarked on a nationwide tour with a brand new stand up show, and also created the online Sitcom ‘The Glasgow Trip’ with fellow comedian Gary Little which in 2019 was nominated for best online comedy at The Scottish Comedy Awards.
In 2021, Des took to the stage to play the lead role of Lisbon Lion Bertie Auld in the hilarious and heartwarming play Bend it like Bertie at Websters Theatre in Glasgow. The show, written by Glasgow playwright Jim Orr, was such a hit with theatre goers it embarked on a 2022 Scottish National tour.
In 2023, the play transferred to the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow with a sell-out run, and then on to the iconic Westgate Theater in Las Vegas.
