Its site in Livingston originated as The Double D brand, established in 1978, and has grown to become one of the leading UK manufacturers of industrial cookers for the further processing of meat, poultry, fish, and vegetables. The current portfolio includes equipment for continuous and flexible high-volume cooking, searing, grill-marking, pre-frying, and baking. Additionally, it manufactures batch cooker solutions for further processing meat, fish, and ready meals, along with a batch rack oven for processing a wide variety of bakery products.
JBT acquired the Double D brand in 2009, enabling the integration of its linear ovens and cookers with JBT’s existing range of Frigoscandia® freezing and chilling systems, and Stein® fryers and coating line equipment. This acquisition provided customers with a broader spectrum of in-line food processing solutions.
Earlier this year, in January, JBT merged with Marel, bringing together two major companies in the food industry. Its purpose is to be the leading partner in solutions for a sustainable food industry. Combining both brands allows JBT Marel to offer a comprehensive range of solutions to our customer base.
