Join us on Thursday 21 November 10am – 1pm, for an opportunity to share common challenges, better understand how fellow member companies are continuously improving their business, hear more about Progress Rail United Kingdom, a Caterpillar company that’s manufacturing site in South Queensferry is one of the most modern steel foundries in the U.K.  

With a history of high integrity steel casting manufacture for over a hundred years for products including multistage pumps, valves, power generation and general engineering castings, this facility has the capacity to produce castings up to five tonnes in weight in a variety of steels from austenitic manganese to Argon Oxygen Decarburisation (AOD) refined stainless steel.  A key supplier of switches and crossings (S&C) to national and international markets, attendees will gain an insight into the manufacturing process and innovative practices employed to develop the next generation crossing.  Underpinning all this work is the ability to do so safely.  The South Queensferry facility is Caterpillar’s UK flagship site for the rollout of their new ‘Safety Driven’ programme.  This is an opportunity to find out about our ‘care, learn and prevent’ journey, highlighting examples and lessons learnt to date.
