Unconscious Bias and Inclusive Recruitment

Recruiting, retaining and promoting women makes great business sense. Diversity in thinking and decision making increases productivity, profitability and innovation. Many engineering employers want to employ more women, but report that they simply do not receive applications from them.

This half day course support employers to:

  • Understand unconscious bias and how it can impact on the numbers of women working in the engineering sector.
  • Identify gendered language in adverts and consider inclusive recruitment language
  • Review the format, structure and tone of job descriptions
  • Consider steps they can take to attract more applications from women, including positive action measures.
