February Breakfast Briefing – How the University of Strathclyde can help you develop your business and workforce

Catch up with February’s Breakfast Briefing – How the University of Strathclyde can help you develop your business and workforce

This breakfast briefing focused what the University of Strathclyde can offer businesses through student projects, internships, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, training courses, etc to help you explore and develop new concepts and ways of working, find good graduates and upskill, retain and develop your existing staff. Sheena MacKenzie, Industry Engagement and Professor Campbell Booth, the Vice Dean for Research in the Engineering Faculty will be joined by Carolyn Arbuckle from the West of Scotland KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnership) Centre.

Sheena MacKenzie is the Head of Industry Engagement for the Engineering Faculty at the University of Strathclyde. As a Chartered Systems Engineer with 35 years working on both sides of the interface between academic research and the engineering industry, she now brings the two communities together to solve challenges and find solutions.

Professor Campbell Booth is the Vice Dean for Research Engagement for the Engineering Faculty at the University of Strathclyde as well as the Applications Director for his own spin-out company, Synaptec. As Vice Dean for Research, Campbell heads the PhDs@Work programme, where industry-employed staff can study for a PhD part time at the university.

Dr Carolyn Arbuckle is a Business Development Officer with the West of Scotland KTP Centre.

For 45 years, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) have been helping businesses innovate for growth.  If you have an idea for your business but do not have all the in-house expertise needed to develop it, a KTP or a Management KTP may be the perfect solution.  Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) link forward thinking businesses with the UK’s world class knowledge bases to deliver innovation projects led by inspired graduates.
