Brodie Engineering Member Networking and Best Practice Meeting

Brodie Engineering

Tuesday 10 March 2026

Join us on Tuesday 10 March 10am – 1pm, for an opportunity to share common challenges, better understand how fellow member companies are continuously improving their business and hear more about Brodie Engineering, a leading rolling stock engineering business.

Founded in 1996, Brodie Engineering undertakes overhaul, design and engineering work for the rail industry out of its two depots in Kilmarnock, Bonnyton Works and Caledonia Works. It offers a comprehensive range of refurbishment, maintenance, overhaul and repair services to the rail sector. With expertise ranging from passenger trains to specialist infrastructure vehicles; from bespoke new equipment to obsolescence management on heritage trains.

At the event attendees will experience an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit at Brodie Engineering’s Caledonia Works site, beginning with a warm welcome from Managing Director, Gerry Hilferty and introductions to key members of its talented team. Guests will gain insight into what Brodie Engineering does and how it does it, including hearing directly from its younger engineers about site operations and projects. The tour will highlight the organisation’s strong commitment to social value – showcasing how it contributes to the local economy — as well as its proud support of the Armed Forces Covenant, including a look at its recent on-site Armistice ceremony. Visitors will then enjoy a guided tour of Caledonia Works, featuring an engaging design demonstration and a sneak peek at live projects, before concluding with lunch and an informal discussion with the team.
