July’s Breakfast Briefing -Environmental Social and Corporate Governance ESG

Catch up with July’s Breakfast Briefing – Environmental Social and Corporate Governance ESG

This instalment of our Breakfast Briefing series looks at Environmental Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) and its relevance and implications for Scottish businesses.

The Briefing was delivered by Alan Dow, ESG Lead at consulting practice, Mabbett & Associates’ Glasgow office. ESG is fastly becoming the most pertinent reporting priority for businesses across the globe, and with the forthcoming transition from voluntary to mandatory reporting, attention is required. The integration of the 3 pillars of ESG represents a significant development in the management of material issues to business, extending beyond traditional environmental compliance, health and safety and corporate control across all functions within a business. Alan introduces the background to and principles of ESG, what is covered across the topics, and outlines when and how businesses need to respond to ensure customer, client and stakeholder requirements and ensure future best practice and compliance.

Alan has worked in the environmental consulting sector for over 35 years, is a graduate of the Universities of Glasgow, London and Stirling and is a Certified Professional in Sustainability Reporting.
